The seminar is designed for UG/PG students, faculties, research scholars etc., and will cover the security vulnerabilities so that the participants would be benefited by gathering a good understanding of the problems at hand. It would also provide a platform to discuss the defensive strategies and tricks, as well as the overall architecture, which have been proven to help secure sites.
It would also help in identifying the gaps in the current scenario and ascertain potential research directions towards enabling trust in cyber security, categorizing methods and techniques for establishing trust in web application and embedded systems security, and also setting up an active knowledge sharing platform.
Towards generating adequate trust and confidence in transactions in cyberspace it is imperative to build a secure and resilient cyberspace. Embedded system security is another emerging area, nurturing towards a strategic approach to protect software running on embedded systems from attack. As on date, security of embedded systems is often ignored during the design and development period of the product, thus leaving many devices vulnerable to attacks. To get a better perspective, it would be beneficial for the student community to look at the traits of embedded systems security which are different from those of software security.
The seminar would on the whole concentrate on identifying, supporting, and driving research activities towards addressing the cyber security challenges relevant for web applications and embedded systems.
